Silver bronze, a rarer technique than other decorative bronze techniques, consists of covering soft bronze objects with thin layers of silver. This process offers much greater durability and a rendering closer to solid silver than plating.
This very elegant silver finish was used for old candelabra and small sculptures.
Since silver bronze objects are generally without a punch, their dating is often based on their design. This pair, inspired by a model from 1720, was probably made in the 19th century.
The appearance and weight of this pair testify to superior quality and excellent condition.
This pair of beautiful French Louis XV style candlesticks will perfectly find their place on a table or fireplace.
